Happy Friday! Please read this … apologies in advance for the length.
Regular scout meetings resume Monday 17th April at 7pm. This meeting will include the annual Order of the Arrow elections. We need EVERY scout to attend this Monday as a majority of the troop must be present for the vote to count! If you would like to join OA (must already be at least First Class) please contact Mr. Danhauer ASAP.
T-SHIRTS and SIGNUPS: The following sign-ups are all active at https://www.troop934.org/calendar/
We are taking orders for the 23/24 Class B T-shirt. This is required for all Scouts and Leaders attending Summer Camp and/or Philmont or Seabase this year and is encouraged for everyone else (parents too). Orders are needed by 15th May but please do not wait!
The April campout at Raven Point is next weekend, 21st-23rd April. This is always a fun trip, with good food and cool activities down on High Rock Lake. Raven Point is a required shakedown for Scouts attending SeaBase. Please sign up ASAP so we know how much food to buy!
The Wachovia Merit Badge College is Saturday, 6th May. Great opportunity for all scouts (including first- and second-year Ravens) to pickup some Eagle-required merit badges.
The Memorial Day backpacking trip in GSMNP, which is a required shakedown for the Philmont trek, is also active. We are going back to Smokemont this year and will be doing some downhill hiking, including a lighter trek for first- and second-year Ravens.
All Scouts who are attending Summer Camp (except first-year Ravens) should have already submitted a MB sign-up sheet. If not, please see the link on the website. We still have room for Scouts and Adult Leaders– please raise your hand.
Thank you!

Scout and Parents,
Below is the link to the 2023 T934 Summer Camp MB/Activity Request Form. As soon as you are able please print, complete, and either email to t934leaderadm@gmail.com or give to Ms. Settlemire at a Monday Meeting. We have included CRK’s Program Guide with the Request Form …. but if you have any questions about Summer Camp please do not hesitate to ask a T934 Leader!
Registration starts mid-February and continues throughout the Spring. Based on experience we expect certain MB sessions to fill quickly (i.e., by March), which is why we ask for your 2nd and 3rd choices. Remember your individual deposit must be paid to CRK before we can register your selections.

23/24 Ravens do not complete this form as the Raven Curriculum is set by the Troop.
Thank you!
Good morning!
One – Ty Brown needs adult and scout volunteers for the Senior Raven Day this Saturday morning, 11th February. In addition to Raven advancement, this is a great opportunity for First Class and above Scouts to satisfy the EDGE teaching requirements needed for Star and Life ranks.
Two – Bryan Scott is finalizing details on the Grayson Highlands Winter Backpacking trip Feb 17th-19th. We have limited participation at the moment and are debating routes/number of treks — if you are going, please sign up ASAP. If you are “thinking about it” please let Mr. Scott know ASAP.
Three – YES, we are still taking Summer Camp Deposits!!! Please email Will Maddux and he will send you a Square invoice. A deposit is needed before your Scout can register for Merit Badge classes.
Four – Camp Cards will be distributed on Monday 13th Feb during the Scout Meeting. A parent’s signature is required so please come inside/downstairs and see Tonya Scott & Emily Fuldner. Camp cards cost $10; $5 goes to your Scout’s activities and $5 to OHC. Full value of the discounts is well over $100 and it is VERY easy to use the first $30.
Five – If you have not already, please pay your adult and/or youth recharter invoice that was sent via Square.
Thank you!
**If your scout is bridging from Webelos in Feb/Mar 23 this email does not apply.**
Parents and Adult Leaders,
Recharter invoices for returning T934 Scouts and Adult Leaders have been sent. Please check your email for a Square invoice from “OHC dba Troop 934,” which is our new Square billing account. If you do not see an invoice please check old/alternate email accounts and ask your spouse to do the same. If you still do not see one please email Mr. Maddux (wom7701 at gmail.com) with your preferred email and we will resend. Also, if you would prefer that we email invoices to a different account or if your contact details are incorrect please email Mr. Maddux with that information.
Thank you for your patience and understanding!
