T934 – Scouting for Food Collection to Monday’s Meeting

Scouting for Food collection has started. It’s different this year due to COVID. We are asking Scouts and their families to bring non-perishable canned or boxed food to Monday’s meeting at MTUMC. Food collected by the troop will be for the Maple Springs UMC food pantry.

Troop 934 – Office Hours Tonight (6-7); Backpacking This Weekend

There will be Office Hours tonight, Feb 15 from 6-7 PM at MTUMC. Advancement and MB checkoffs will be available. Dress warmly and for wet weather (adults are needed).
South Mountain Backpacking Trip: THIS WEEKEND. Participants must be at the church no later than 3:45 on Friday. The bus will leave the parking lot at 4:30 sharp, no delays. If you’re signed up, look for more details soon, by email, from Mr. Hardy.

Troop 934 – LIVE Meeting Tonight (Feb 8) at 7 PM

The Troop will have a LIVE meeting tonight at MTUMC at 7 PM.

ALL Scouts UNDER the rank of Life should bring their Scout Handbooks. Patrols will be logging the current status of each Scout with a rank UNDER Life (Scout, Tenderfoot, 2nd Class 1st Class and Star) to see what remains in each Scout’s advancement needs.

Mr. Marvin will NOT be present at tonight’s meeting. He has asked Scouts that have advancement checkoffs that need logging to take a picture of the signed off item (blue card, MB worksheet/completion notice, red/yellow/green cards, etc.) and email it to him (wrmarvin@bellsouth.net).

We will be hosting the Pack 934 Webelos tonight. Welcome them warmly, please, as they will be bridging up to be our newest Scouts in a few weeks.

The meeting should last approximately 1 hour.

Dress WARMLY. We will be gathering in PATROLS ONLY.

(Until further notice, our meeting schedule will be live meetings every other week with “office hours” on the off week).

Troop 934 – LIVE Meeting Tonight at 7:00 at MTUMC

The Troop will be meeting LIVE tonight at 7:00 (not 6:30). Please dress warmly and have your rain gear. We will be meeting in patrols to keep under the 25 person gathering limit. We will be hosting the 2nd Year Webelos from Pack 934 tonight as well. See you tonight!

Troop 934 – NO Scout Meeting Tonight (Jan 18)

No meeting tonight, Jan 18 (Remember: No school, no scouts).
Next meeting will be on Jan 25 – LIVE at MTUMC. Be prepared to meet in ONLY patrol groups since we are still limited to outdoor gatherings of 25 or less.
Finally, the Uwharrie Freeze Out for this upcoming weekend has been moved to Dr. Golden’s property in Tobaccoville. Parents will need to drop their scout off on site on Friday afternoon and pick him up on Sunday AM. Mr. Mistor has emailed all registered participants. If you haven’t registered and want to go, please do so by tonight. Get in those nights of camping!

Troop 934 – Hayden LaPonte Eagle Fundraiser

Hayden LaPonte’s Eagle scout project will be enhancing the frisbee golf course at Wake Forest University by installing benches, adding alternate pin placements and placing navigational markers around the course. The cost will be about $600. To raise the money, Hayden will be hosting a book drive. Scouts and their families/friends can help by donating their unwanted books, DVD’s or CD’s. If you can help, please contact Hayden to come pick up your donation at your home.

The Outdoor Committee leadership is happy to announce that the website calendar has been updated to reflect our updates on our 2021 ~ 2023 trip and event schedules. Several new trips have been added this evening. Each trip includes the Eventbrite links you would follow to sign up and pay any trip fees.

Troop 934 – Daniel Snipes Eagle Fundraiser

Daniel Snipes’ Eagle scout project will be building three raised flower beds at Brookridge Retirement Community that will be wheelchair accessible for the residents in the memory care unit. The cost will be about $700. To raise the money, Daniel will be compiling a virtual concert to be posted on social media where he will be asking for donations. Daniel is asking scouts to help by providing a brief video to add to the virtual concert. It can be a song and instrument of your choice. If you can help, please send Daniel a video by Monday December 28. The video can be shared with Daniel through Google Drive or you can contact him (daniel.m.snipes@gmail.com) to make other arrangements or if you need more information or have questions.
