Hello troop,

This Sunday is Scout Sunday . As usual. ALL Scouts are expected to be in attendance and show support for our Charter Organization. We will attend and support the Ignite service which is held in the same sanctuary as our regular Courts of Honor. Please be in the lobby no later than 10:30. Bring food for the food drive. CLASS A UNIFORM please

Scout Health Forms

All scouting parents need to provide the following updated forms for their scout as soon as possible to make sure the Troop leadership have the proper forms on file for all excursions and travels between now and summer camp!

Please drop these forms off with the leaders at the Scout Room desk during the Monday night meetings.

Medical Forms – A, B, and C

The link below is a PDF formatted file provided by the Old Hickory Council for all scouts. The A and B Forms are filled out by parents and Form C is filled out by a physician.

Immunizations

Please bring a copy of your scout’s immunization records

Insurance Card

Please bring a copy of your current Insurance Card that includes the front and back of the card.

Scout Sunday

Good evening everyone! Our Senior Patrol Leader has asked me to post details about the next Scout Sunday happening this weekend! All scouts are encouraged to attend Scout Sunday to collect donated food cans, usher, and direct traffic!

Service Time

Please have your scout arrive at 8:15 am this Sunday, February 2, 2020 in the parking lot of Mount Tabor United Methodist Church. We need all scouts to be dressed in full Class A dress uniforms.

We will be transporting the collected food to Maple Springs UMC after all the church services are completed and we will need scouts to help unload the food at the destination.

Pick up will be around 12:30pm at Maple Springs UMC.

Klondike

I am happy to report that the weather report gets better every time I check it! Keep your fingers crossed, it could snow!

Meet Friday @ 5pm at the lower church parking lot. Class B. Bring a bag supper and your best competitive spirit. Game on!

National Jamboree 2021 Registration

Happy New Year! I know what you’re thinking. I haven’t even had time to get used to writing the new year on checks yet and we’re already discussing 2021??? Trust me when I say – this is one trip you don’t want your son to miss! National Jamboree 2021 sign-ups are here!

Here are the details we have so far:

The National Jamboree will be July 21-30, 2021. To participate the boys must be 12 years old by the first day of Jambo (7/21/2021) The total fee is $1550 per person which includes Event Registration, (2) shirts, (5) patch sets, Day Pack and Duffel Bag. Transportation to and from the Jamboree is also included.

The Council has reserved two Treks and there are plenty of spots available.

Payment Schedule:

  • January 15, 2020 – $200
  • July 15, 2020 – $450  
  • October 15, 2020 – $450
  •  January 15, 2021 – $450

Thanks for a great banquet. Next troop meeting (and PLC) is January 6. Merry Christmas!

Shoe drive fundraiser

Riley Crenshaw is collecting used and new shoes for a shoe drive for the Mount Tabor marching band. The shoes will be donated to developing countries. Any shoes in any size are acceptable.

Please bring in any shoes you want to donate to the meeting tomorrow night.

Very Important Events For the Upcoming Week

Troop, Please read to the end.

1) Annual Banquet this Friday, December 6 at 6pm. Please sign up and pay by Monday night December 2nd. We have limited walk-in availability. This is our biggest annual event and includes our winter Court of Honor, recognitions and popcorn prizes. Currently, signups are lagging so let’s get going! All scouts are strongly encouraged to bring their families.

2) All popcorn money must be turned in Monday, December 2nd. Please bring a check made out to Troop 934. No cash.

3) We need desserts for banquet. If you are able, please bring a cake, a pie or some cookies.

4) We also need some volunteers at 6pm on Thursday night for 1 hour to help set up for banquet. Adults and youth are welcome. Many hands make light work!

5) After banquet, there is an overnight lock in for any boys interested. This is an annual favorite but you must sign up by Monday, December 2nd. Pickup is 8am Saturday unless you want to stay and help with Aidan’s eagle project.

6) Aidan Alexander will be hosting an Eagle workday on Saturday, December 7 from 9- 2. He needs your help. Come on out!
