For all Troop 934 OA members and Ordeal Candidates, this weekend is Ordeal Weekend I at Camp Raven Knob.  For those who cannot make it this weekend, you have the option of attending Ordeal II on September 6-8.

The troop will be providing bus transportation to CRK for this weekend’s Ordeal I.  We will depart MTUMC promptly at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, August 16, and we will return at approximately 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, August 18.  If you would like to ride with us, please arrive for an on-time departure wearing Class A uniforms and bring a bag dinner to eat on the way up.  If you arrive after 6pm, you will need to provide your own transportation to CRK. For those planning to drive themselves, you must arrive at the CRK dining hall during the registration window between 7pm and 9pm.

Note that this is not a Troop 934 event and Ravens are not eligible to attend.  All OA members and candidates should have received an email directly from Wahissa Lodge to register for one of the two Ordeal weekends.  If you have not already done so, you may still register here.  Participating in one of the ordeal weekends within 18 months from the date of your election is necessary to secure your membership. The lodge website provides more details on the Ordeal Weekend, including a list of things you’ll need to bring (and things you’ll not need).

Most importantly, you should bring the following:

• $65 Registration fee (if not paid online at registration – includes meals, Ordeal sash, Lodge Dues, Brotherhood membership and other items that enhance your Ordeal experience)
• Extra money for the Wahissa Lodge Trading Post (optional)
• Current BSA Medical Form Parts A & B (contact the troop if you need a copy of yours)
• Work Clothes/Gloves (if you have some)
• Sleeping Bag
• Ground Cloth or Tarp (contact the troop if you do not have one)
• Class A Uniform
• Rain Gear
• Backpack

Eagle Scout Projects & Workdays

Luke Mistor’s Eagle Scout Project Workdays on August 8th and 9th start at 9:00 AM. Please meet at Ken Carlson Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club, 2100 Reynolds Park Road. You will be building a shelter on the soccer field. Food and drinks will be provided.

Jackson Hartsough’s Eagle Scout Project is taking place Friday, August 16th from 4pm to 6pm and Saturday, August 17th, from 10am to 2:30pm. His project is repairing and refurbishing a brick labyrinth behind Mt. Tabor UMC. Please bring work clothes to dig in, closed toed shoes, gloves, and water. The project will take place behind the equipment shed (map location below – red pin). Jackson requests that interested participants fill out this Google Form.

Colin Hartley’s Eagle Scout Project is taking place on Saturday, August 17, 9am until completion. Snacks and drinks will be provided. The address is 133 W. Acadia Ave, Winston-Salem, NC 27127.
